Back To Back March Schedule

Kariuki's prayer Update

Dear prayer partners.

Greetings from a refreshingly cloudy and rainy Nairobi. The year started with a severe drought and our pastoral communities have suffered great loses with thousands of livestock dead. So for us the rain is welcome and hopefully food prices will reduce. #lowerfoodprices has been trending in Kenya media as many find it hard to make ends meet. The government and relief agencies are coordinating relief efforts.

For our kids, Instead of the usual 3 terms of school in the year, there are four terms last year and this year to make up for loss of school time due to COVID. Financially it is a stretch and we are thankful for some unexpected and anonymous gifts that eased the extra need. Joshua has had extra hours at his campus work-study job at Messiah University which has also helped a lot. Katelyn has been a bit stressed as she approaches the 8th-grade finals in March but with counseling and encouragement is doing much better two weeks to her exams. We will have three high school students after she graduates and the new school year begins in April.

Ministry-wise, Moses has three consecutive weeks of teaching coming up, in Madagascar and at the Kenyan coast. Flights to Madagascar aren't possible due to border closings, please pray for good data connection on both ends for videoconferencing. JoAnna continues with in-person ladies' bible study. Long-distance pastoral care conversations with our team in Chad have been more regular as we figure out the transition and restructuring in National leadership. Please pray for wisdom and sensitivity to God's voice and Spirit so as to humbly serve for God's glory.

We would appreciate prayers for Jo who's been struggling with allergies and chronic pain in her ears and is under treatment.  Three of us had a minor bout with Omicron and are thankful it did not last long.

Please - drop us a note and let us know how we can pray for you and what is dear to your heart.

As His kingdom comes,

Moses and Jo Kariuki
